Software Asset Management is everywhere and almost becoming yesterday’s news. Companies have spent millions of dollars in moving themselves up the maturity model, implementing tools and even partnering with managed service providers. Yet software vendors are still auditing, and the audits are providing new revenue sources for those vendors. How can clients be fully implemented in SAM yet still being out of compliance with software? The answer is in the space of execution or governance. SAM is an ongoing process that must be exercised and continually updated to reflect changes in the software landscape and IT environment. One of those exercise points is in the performance of internal or practice audits. The presentation will provide background and process specific to internal audits and continuous compliance management. Client examples will be presented along with success stories.
